I’m Kevin Chaney, and as a mediator and attorney I bring more than 25 years’ law and business experience to the table when helping parties settle disputes. I have a passion for helping people resolve conflicts without lengthy, expensive lawsuits.

I’m an attorney licensed to practice law in Texas and Nebraska. I started my career as a divorce and criminal defense attorney before moving into corporate law and international business. I bring to every mediation excellent communication and collaboration skills, as well as:

20+ Years’ Business Law and International Business Experience

20 Years’ Manufacturing & Construction Experience

10 Years’ Family Law and Real Estate Experience

In addition to serving as an attorney, I have owned and managed businesses in the U.S., Hong Kong, and mainland China, and have extensive start-up experience.

I now focus my practice on Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), specifically Mediation and Parenting Coordination and Facilitation.

Why Mediation?

As a former litigator, I know litigation can be a very expensive, lengthy process, and take a high emotional toll on the parties. Successful mediation, on the other hand, gives parties the satisfaction of crafting their own settlement rather than having an order imposed by a judge or jury, and mediation can be concluded in as little as a few hours.

Mediation gives parties a far greater say in the outcome of their matter and, unlike litigation, allows for a win-win situation for the participants. I’m committed to helping parties resolve their disputes quickly, avoiding the time, cost, and heartache of litigation.

I’m a Marine Corps veteran who is active in my church and community, and I serve as a volunteer mediator at the Bexar County Dispute Resolution Center.
