A fun fact about me is that I received my nickname, Miss Elsie, from some preschool teachers I worked with at a church. Everyone always calls me Miss Lisa and they already had a teacher named Miss Lisa and were afraid of what might happen if we both had the same name. After disagreeing with the Preschool Director about having the students call me Mrs. Culverwell, we decided to give it a shot. It was smooth sailing until just before I left - I walked out to meet the Director and saw Miss Lisa sitting there with a student at the playground and I went to say hi. She brought the student over to say hi to Miss Lisa… and then it happened. That little girl was so confused, she said “I already did”, and our run was over. They decided to think about it overnight, so the next morning when they came to my office, collectively, they all said, “We have the perfect name for you, Miss Elsie!” I said, “I love it, where did you get it?” They said, “your name… Miss LC!” And so, Miss Elsie was born. I am a born again, devout Christian, who brings my faith into my business. After all, if God hadn’t been in the forefront, my business wouldn’t exist. I will always treat everyone with compassion, respect, and love. I will never “force God” on anyone, but I’m more than happy to talk about Him, if you ask. I have been a bookkeeper since year 2000, and doing financial and construction compliance since year 2013. After running a construction office by myself for six years from top to bottom (minus doing the construction itself, of course), I came to the conclusion that I am an authority on all things compliance when it comes to running a construction office, making me your leading Construction Business Advisor.
