Hello, my name is Jacob. What could be more inspiring than people striving to improve how they feel, how they think, and how they function. On rare occasions, these aspirations lead to tremendous accomplishments, like constructing monumental buildings or creating timeless works of art. However, more often than not, we find true heroism in seemingly ordinary everyday life. These heroics might look like getting cut off in traffic and keeping your cool, finding the courage to ask your boss for a raise, or deciding to bravely take your life in a new direction. I believe that the road to becoming the hero of your own story stems from finding the balance between being accountable for what is in your control and accepting what is outside of your control. Of course, this is much easier said than done. My approach to therapy is the result of my own life experiences, which have taken me from Philly to New York City, to Jerusalem, and back again. I have a holistic humanistic approach to therapy, which means I believe every part of you and your world are filled with potential resources that may help you work towards feeling like your best self. Clients often find me kind and sincere during session. I see my role as a therapist as someone who works with clients in reexamining their lives, with the goal of building authentic self-love and acceptance. I view self-understanding and self-acceptance not as end goals, but as the firm launching pads towards self-improvement. The process of searching for greater well-being can be daunting. At the same time, there is satisfaction to be found in every step you take on the road to a better life. It is tremendously beautiful for a person to strive for authentic and deep-rooted wellness. While there are always ups and downs on the road to the better you, I will be with you in celebrating your wins and mourning your losses. Personally, there are few things I value more than helping people along their own way. There is nothing more difficult, or more noble, than striving to live your best life. If you’re in the process of looking for your first therapist, or if you’re looking for a new therapist, be proud of yourself for taking meaningful steps towards a better you. I look forward to the privilege of working with you towards helping you realize your own personal greatness.
