Theresa M. Gerlach graduated from William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota in 2008. Before attending law school, Theresa attended University of Colorado and received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from California Coast University. Theresa opened Gerlach Law Firm in 2008. She is licensed in Minnesota State Court, Wisconsin State Court, and the Federal Court in the Western District of Wisconsin. She practices in the areas of family law and estate planning. Theresa is also qualified as a mediator and Social Early Neutral Evaluator (SENE) and is currently training to become a Parenting Consultant. Theresa makes it her priority to efficiently resolve cases while focusing on minimizing conflict between parents to ensure that children have a better chance of a healthy adjustment to the changes in their family. She advocates zealously and fights for fair outcomes on behalf of her clients. Theresa not only has the psychology background allowing her to understand family issues, but she also obtained experienced as a Guardian Ad Litem in child protection cases during and after law school. Additionally, Theresa has three sons and has both personal and professional experience with high conflict and interstate custody cases. Theresa has appellate practice experience and has personally handled three Minnesota Court of Appeals cases, prevailing in two and reaching a settlement through Appellate Mediation in the third.
