I am passionate about helping clients work through a multitude of different disputes using an active listening and problem-solving-oriented approach. I get the most out of my life by working hard to be successful at the things that drive me, but also by finding balance—making time for self-improvement and spending time doing other things that make me happy. For me, that includes learning new things and ways to improve as a person, or as a professional, as well as enjoying nature, travel, martial arts, hiking, meditation, loved ones and more. I try to help carry this concept into my professional life by helping people solve all different kinds of problems, with one thing in common: They are all issues usually getting in the way of the parties making the most of their time and energy. While I respect and appreciate the legal process, and recognize its necessity in certain situations, it is generally not a great place to go to get satisfactory results—at least not in a reasonable time or manner, or without enormous stress. In essence, you are giving your decision-making power away to a stranger, who may or may not see things your way, all at a potentially great cost. I use mediation to help people reclaim power in their own situations. By communicating openly and evaluating the parties’ respective positions, we can begin to have a discussion about what options the parties think make sense for them. Throughout the process, I like to help people see conflict differently, so they can evaluate problems more clearly and spend less time with conflict in the future. Accomplishing this, all while saving a lot of money, and other less tangible things for my clients is why I do what I do!
