Serving the community to reduce pain burden and improve quality of life, one patient at a time. At Upper East Side Pain Management, Dr. Matthew A. Spiegel will leave no stone unturned in his effort to alleviate your pain and restore your ability to lead a physically active and emotionally healthy life. Dr. Spiegel understands that ongoing discomfort negatively affects a person’s entire life: sleep patterns, social activities, food intake and morale. At your initial consultation, your pain history will be carefully reviewed so as to triage the appropriate treatment algorithm, ranging from conservative care (e.g. NSAIDs, acupuncture), to interventional (e.g. cortisone injections, nerve stimulation), to minimally invasive advanced procedures (e.g. vertebral augmentation, spinal cord decompression). Dr. Spiegel’s expertise encompasses ultrasound and fluoroscopic guided procedures, targeting the pain generators in the spine, joints, or nerves, with high precision. Frequently employed modalities include epidural steroid injections, radiofrequency ablations, spinal cord or peripheral nerve stimulation, vertebral augmentation, interspinous spacers, regenerative techniques and more. Dr. Spiegel believes that it’s tragic to live a life of inadequately treated pain. He therefore assiduously works with each patient to curate their unique path towards pain cessation.
