Billie Colombaro (Ret.) is a former Court of Appeals Judge with over 40 years of experience in the legal field. She now practices as a full time Arbitrator and Mediator, working primarily with the American Arbitration Association. She serves as Chair for and is on the Commercial (Large Complex Cases), Employment, International, Appellate, and Consumer Panels, as well as on the Judicial Settlement Conference, and is coded as a Special Master. In addition to her Juris Doctorate Degree from Loyola University, Judge Colombaro, has a Masters of Law Degree in Judicial Process from the University of Virginia. ?Judge Colombaro is a Fellow with the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) and has been Chair of the organization’s Examinations Board and on its Board of Management since approximately 2017. She is an experienced trial lawyer, having successfully argued innumerable jury trials on a vast range of issues for over a decade and has taught “Trial Advocacy” for over 20 years to Harvard University Law students. Judge Colombaro created a course, rooted in science, called “The Power of Presence,” which she has taught to Harvard Law Students, lawyers and arbitrators worldwide, and Fortune 500 executives. The course gives attorneys an advantage in persuading arbitrators and juries and provides business executives with similar techniques in achieving their objectives in the boardroom.
